Kuzana Connect — Privacy Policy

Kuzana Connect ("we", "the app") helps members of the Kuzana community - founders, investors,
lenders, consultants, and service providers - find and connect with the right person through
an AI-assisted voice interview and matching system. This page explains what information we
collect, why, and how it's used.
Information we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and Google account identifier, from signing in with Google. We never see or store a password.
- Profile: role, industry, company, location, a short bio, and an optional phone number and profile/business photos - whatever you choose to add.
- Voice interview: your interview is conducted through Vapi, a third-party voice AI provider, which returns a text transcript of the conversation. We keep only your most recent transcript - redoing the interview replaces it, we don't keep a history of prior attempts.
- Matching data: we use Google's Gemini AI to analyze your interview transcript and generate compatibility scoring and introduction text between you and other members.
- Messages: the text, attachments, and voice notes you exchange with people you're matched with.
- Calendar (optional): if you connect Google Calendar to schedule an introduction call, we request access to check mutual free/busy time and create the resulting event on your calendar. We request only
calendar.events and calendar.readonly - we never read, modify, or delete anything else on your calendar, and you can revoke this access at any time from your own Google Account settings.
- Social links (optional): GitHub, LinkedIn, X, or a portfolio URL, if you choose to add them to your profile.
- Investment profile (investors/lenders only): funding preferences, check size, and sectors of interest, if you fill these in.
- Bizi application (founders only): if you apply to Kuzana's Bizi accelerator program, the details of that application and anything you submit during the associated verification process.
How we use this information
Solely to operate Kuzana Connect: matching you with relevant members, running your voice
interview, powering chat and calendar scheduling between matched members, and letting Kuzana
staff review accelerator applications. We do not sell member data, and we do not use it for
advertising.
Third parties we rely on
- Google - sign-in, Calendar scheduling, and Gemini AI for matching.
- Vapi - conducts the voice interview and returns a transcript. A recording of the call may be retained on Vapi's own systems under their privacy policy, independent of what we store.
- Resend - delivers transactional emails (reminders, notifications) on our behalf.
Each of these providers only receives the specific data needed for the feature described above.
Data retention
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Voice interview
transcripts are overwritten (not archived) each time you redo the interview. You can request
deletion of your account and associated data at any time - see Contact below.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. If
you're located in Kenya, this is also your right under the Data Protection Act, 2019, and you
may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you believe your
data has been mishandled.
